Ohope Beach School caters for Cultural Diversity by:

• Acknowledging different cultures
• Having a supportive environment where children are encouraged to have pride in who they are.
• Providing instruction in Te Reo Maori, noho marae and Tikanga Maori.
• Fostering the special relationship that the school has with Ngati Awa.
• Using expertise in the school and community.

If a request is made for instruction in and through tikanga Maori and te reo Maori by a parent, the Board and Principal of Ohope Beach School will assist the parent to locate a suitable local alternative school to meet their needs.

Currently, Ohope Beach School is unable to offer an immersion programme for Maori instruction.
