Ohope Beach School - Dream Believe Achieve

Kia Ora Koutou Katoa

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Ohope Beach School. My name is Cathryn Naera, the principal of the school.

Ohope Beach school is set in an idyllic setting with the students able to enjoy the many opportunities on offer. The school recently had major property work carried out with the new facilities opened in late 2018.  The school is proud to offer inclusive education to students in a modern, warm and welcoming environment.

Our Vision:
Dream Believe Achieve

Our Mission:

To challenge and support our children to be the best they can be.
Ki te taki, ki te tautoko i o tatou tamariki, kia tae ratou ki o ratou na paingia

Our Values:

Positivity – We participate in all activities with enthusiasm. We say kind and positive words.

Respect – We listen and use our manners. We care for our belongings, the environment and each other.

Integrity – We make the right choices and do as we say. We are trustworthy.

Diligence – We try our best in all activities and take on challenges. We work hard to achieve our goals.

Empathy – We think about others and their feelings before we act.

Our school focuses on meeting the unique characteristics and needs of the students. We provide high-quality teaching and learning programs with numerous opportunities for students to take part in sporting, cultural and leadership roles. We encourage our students to take risks, to challenge themselves and to learn from each of these experiences. We aim to provide stimulating, enjoyable learning which will educate the whole child and create an independent learner for the future.

We ensure we regularly celebrate effort, success, and achievement. We also make sure that the pastoral care of the students is a priority to ensure all students needs are met within a physically safe and emotionally safe class and environment.

The Board of Trustees is committed to the quality education of your child/children and works alongside staff to ensure Ohope Beach School is a school we can all be proud of. We believe that education is a partnership between home, school and the community. We welcome and encourage parents and caregivers to be involved in the life of the school. We look forward to working alongside you and your child/children in developing a lifelong love of learning.

The school operates a Ministry of Education Enrolment Scheme which outlines a zone for the student enrolment eligibility. I am happy to meet with parents and prospective parents to discuss enrolment at any time.

If you would like to visit and have a look around please contact the school office so that we can organise either myself, a staff member or a student representative to accompany you around our amazing school.
